LOCATION

 Morristown, NJ
PROJECT TYPE

 Renovation & Restoration

PROJECT DETAILS

DKA was commissioned to design a plan for a complete restoration and renovation of Assumption Church. Having previously designed its parish center, DKA was intimately famailiar with the Gothic Revival style of the church and the need to provide authentic architectural swiss replica watches details.

Structural work included replacement of sound, electrical and lighting systems, including the installation of 22 Gothic style chandeliers. A new airconditioning system was installed and improvements were made to the existing heating system.

By decreasing the size of the sanctuary and reconfiguring the seating, interior space was reallocated to provide additional seating. THe center aisle was increased to provide additional room for special liturgies, weddings and funerals. The tabernacle was relocated to the center of the sanctuary and the new baptismal font was moved to the center of the church. Interior painting used a new color scheme and ornate stenciling to highlight church details.
