PROJECT DETAILS

Assumption Parish presented DKA with the challenge of maintaining the architectural beauty of the church's classical forms while providing the modern amenities required for this parish center. In keeping with the Church's Gothic Revival heritage, DKA designed a new Victorian color scheme to repaint the worship space and draw attention to the stained glass windows dating from 1882. Using ornate stenciling and embellishment, DKA accentuated architectural details behind the Altar, at the ceiling, on the structural columns, and on the existing organ pipes. The architect designed and installed 22 new chandeliers in the Gothic-Revival style to replace those destroyed by fire in 1985. DKA also designed new liturgial furnishing s including a Baptismal Font, Ambry, Ambo and celebrant seating.
